White Lightning Solution

White Lightning is an effective remedy for thrush and White Line Disease. The product is active for 8 hours after mixing with white vinegar. After 8 hours, the mixture becomes inactive.

One treatment consists of 60 ml. White Lightning Solution + 60 ml. white vinegar + enough water to cover half of the hoof wall. Remove shoes (if possible) and thoroughly clean the hoof of dirt and debris.

Place the clean hoof in a heavy-duty plastic bagcontaining the activated White Lightning solution. Then secure the top of the bag around the leg to prevent the gas produced by the activated solution from escaping (adhesive bandages work well for this).

Make sure the horse stands with the hoof in the bag for at least 40–45 minutes. Repeat the treatment 2–3 times a week for the first 4–6 weeks. Then 1–2 times a week until the hoof has grown completely.
