White Lightning Solution

White Lightning is an effective remedy for thrush and White Line Disease. The product is active for 8 hours after mixing with white vinegar. After 8 hours, the mixture becomes inactive.

One treatment consists of 60 ml. White Lightning Solution + 60 ml. white vinegar + enough water to cover half of the hoof wall. Remove shoes (if possible) and thoroughly clean the hoof of dirt and debris.

Place the clean hoof in a heavy-duty plastic bag containing the activated White Lightning solution. Then secure the top of the bag around the leg to prevent the gas produced by the activated solution from escaping ( adhesive bandages work well for this).

Make sure the horse stands with the hoof in the bag for at least 40–45 minutes. Repeat the treatment 2–3 times a week for the first 4–6 weeks. Then 1–2 times a week until the hoof has grown completely.
