The horn is shaped to make it easy to adjust the shoe. Great care is taken to ensure that the horn is sanded and finished symmetrically without grooves or flat spots.

The Hardy hole has been moved further into the work plane, closer to the anvil center. This makes a huge difference when using high force on tool blocks, because you are working more over the foot of the anvil. .

The underside of the back is V-shaped. This provides more clearance when working with a branch on the surface. You can push the toe bend closer to the anvil without the other branch getting stuck on the underside of the heel. The V-shape provides more clearance, but also adds strength to the heel of the anvil.
The best choice for blacksmiths and farriers who want the highest quality anvil, a favorite among competitive farriers.

All Scott anvils are manufactured in a foundry in Texas. We use a proprietary blend of ductile steel that has all the properties needed to produce the highest quality anvils available today. We then grind, machine, heat treat, surface treat and paint each anvil in our Amarillo, Texas workshop.
