Helosan original

Helosan is an ointment that contains humectants and emollients (including glycerin). It does not contain perfume or dyes and the fresh scent comes from eucalyptus oil.

The fat in Helosan is paraffin oil. Due to its high content of skin-identical barrier fat, it is particularly suitable for dry, sensitive and irritated skin - red baby bumps etc. It is also suitable for very dry or scaly skin. Helosan acts as a temporary "lid" on the skin, reducing evaporation and giving the skin time to heal and become resistant to external influences.

Microorganisms live in the thin fatty layer of the epidermis, which, among other things, help to neutralize external bacteria. These microorganisms thrive best on the skin's naturally slightly acidic surface. Washing with ordinary soap creates an alkaline environment that destroys the microorganisms' living conditions for a period of time. Helosan stimulates and protects the skin's own bacterial flora and thereby helps the skin fight minor infections.

Although Helosan is an ointment, it also contains water, which means that it can be applied without difficulty and easily penetrates the skin (Helosan can be washed off the skin again with water and a mild soap).

Helosan's content of both water and fat also makes it suitable for use in frosty weather – for protecting the delicate cheeks of small children in winter or for winter sports enthusiasts. It protects the skin's own fat layer against frost and cold, but the lower the temperature, the more the skin's own fat production is reduced. The skin must therefore be supplied with fat. If you are outside in frosty weather, it is also important to avoid the skin getting wet. The skin must be able to breathe – sweat must be able to escape. Helosan's special composition of water and fat means that the skin's breathing and sweating function works fully. Helosan can be used all over the body – however, it is particularly suitable for the daily care of particularly exposed areas – hands, feet, elbows and knees.

The fat percentage in Helosan is between 50-60%.
